Balong Township
Balong Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Dulan County, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located in the central and southern part of Dulan County, adjacent to Xiangride town and Xiangjia Township in the East, qumalai County of Yushu prefecture and Maduo County of Guoluo Prefecture in the south, and Zongjia town in the West and North. The administrative area is 8233 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, the population of Baron Township registered residence was 6213. As of October 2019, Balong village has 15 administrative villages.
In 2011, the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen in Balong township was 6847 yuan. In 2018, Balong township has 26 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
From the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, Balong was the pasture of xiyouhouqi, the right wing League of Heshuote tribe of Mongolian nationality in Qinghai Province, commonly known as balongzake banner.
In 1956, Balong township was established.
In 1959, it merged with Zongjia Township and was called Bayan commune.
In July 1962, it was separated from Bayan commune and established Balong commune; in November of the same year, it was also called Balong township.
In 1968, Balong township was renamed Balong commune.
In 1984, Balong township was restored, and seven village (Pastoral) committees including Keri, Tuotuo, buloge, iqgaoli, xiatu, Hatu and wulastai were under its jurisdiction.

As of October 2019, Balong rural area has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages: Tuotuo village, wulastai village, Nomuhong village, Hatu village, xiatu village, yikegaoli village, buloge village, Keri agricultural village, Hexi village, Qingquan village, Sanhe Village, Yari Hatu village, Xinlong village, Hedong Village and Keri animal husbandry village.
