Golmude town is a town under the jurisdiction of Golmud City, Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province. It is surrounded by Golmud City, bordering dagele Township in the East, qumalai County in Yushu prefecture in the south, Wutumeiren Township in the West and Qarhan Salt Lake in the north. The administrative area is 26223.97 square kilometers.

By the end of 2018, the registered residence of the town of 30783 had been registered. As of October 2019, Golmud town has 13 village committees, 6 animal husbandry committees and 1 community.

In 2011, the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen in Golmud town was 7487 yuan, an increase of 12% over the previous year. In 2018, Golmud town had 7 industrial enterprises and 58 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

The town of Golmud was formerly known as ardentrock district.

In September 1984, Golmud township was established.

In December 2003, the township was removed to build a town.
