Laxiwa Town, belonging to guide County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the northwest of Guide county. It borders on Garang Township and Hexi Town in the East, Hexi Town in the south, guomaying town in the southwest, Qugou Township in Gonghe County in the west, Riyue Township in Huangyuan county and Daotanghe town in Gonghe County in the north. History of construction

In March 1958, zhongguomi District of Gonghe County was assigned to guide County, which was called Longyang commune.

In September 1959, Longyang commune was renamed luohantang commune.

In 1984, luohantang commune was changed into luohantang township.

In 2005, luohantang township was renamed as Laxiwa town.

Laxiwa town has undulating mountains and ravines. The geomorphic types are mainly low and medium mountains, hills, grasslands and high mountains. There are a small number of Valley accumulation terrace areas. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south, with an altitude of 2232-4832m. The valley along the Yellow River is the lowest, and the soge mountain (yeniu mountain) is the highest.

History and culture

The original name of Laxiwa town is luohantang Township, which means "Temple Beach" in Tibetan. In 2005, it was renamed as Laxiwa town when the township was withdrawn to build a town. "Laxiwa" means "chicken crown shaped hillside" in Tibetan, which is named after the shape of nearby hillside.
