Nianbo Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Ledu District, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, is located in the middle of Ledu District, bordering Dalu village of Gaomiao town in the East, Jiangwan village of Hongshui town in the southeast, Nanshan in the south, fengdui Township in the southwest, Gaodian town in the west, Dala Township in the northwest and shoule town in the northeast. The administrative area is 144.43 square kilometers.

History of construction
In 1945, Nianbo town was established.
In 1958, Nianbo commune was established.
In 1984, Nianbo town was restored.

Nianbo town is located in the Huangshui Valley, with hills and valleys in the north. Huangshui River can cross the middle of the town from west to East, dividing the town into North and south. The topography of the town is undulating, high in the north and South and low in the middle, forming a unique valley basin. The highest peak ant mountain (Chaoyang mountain) is located at 0.5km in the north of the town, with an altitude of about 2080m. hydrology
Huangshui River in Nianbo town is a tributary of the Yellow River. It is the largest river in the town and a secondary channel. The river is 14km long, with a drainage area of 1.54km2, an average annual flow of 45.1m3/s and an annual runoff of 132000m3. From west to East, it flows through shuimowan, Qilidian, Qilidian East, xiongshenjia, Lijia, shangjiaochang, xiajiaochang, Donggang, Tuqiao, Jiawan, tangguanying, Shangzhai, Xiazhai, Dongzhuang, dongmenxiang, Hemen, Hewan and other villages; the third level rivers include Yinsheng River and Gangzi River, with a total length of 15 km. Yinsheng river flows from north to south through Baliqiao, Sujia, Wangjia, Bajia, Shaba, xujiashagou, Huangjia, Houying, xialijia, yangjiamen, Dongguan, dongmenxiang and other villages to Huangshui River; GangZi river flows from south to north through Chaojia, Zhaojia, Yawan, Gaojia, jiuhajia, Xigang, Donggang and other villages to Huangshui river. The total length of the river is 29 km, and the river network density is 0.2 km / km2.

The main natural disasters in Nianbo town are drought, flood, hail and so on. The drought happened every two to three years, mainly in spring, and the most serious occurred in 1953.
