Wolong
Wolong Town, subordinate to Zhuanglang County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the western mountainous area of Zhuanglang County, adjacent to liuliang Township and Shuiluo town in the East, zhudian Township, Dazhuang Township and Yangchuan Township in the south, Hulu River in the west, Yuwan Township and Leida township of Jingning County across the River, and Nanhu town in the north. It covers an area of 133.81 square kilometers.
In 1942, Wolong township was established. After 1949, Wolong District was established. In December 1958, when Zhuanglang County was merged into Jingning County, Wolong commune of Jingning County was established. In December 1961, it became Wolong commune in Zhuanglang County. In 1983, it was changed to Wolong township. In 2015, it was renamed Wolong Town. As of 2018, the number of registered residence in Wolong town was 30008. As of June 2020, Wolong Town has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages.
By the end of 2018, Wolong Town had 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Evolution of administrative districts
In 1942, Wolong township was set up in the north of Ningyang Township, where Jingning belonged to Zhuanglang.
After 1949, Wolong District was established.
In December 1958, when Zhuanglang County was merged into Jingning County, Wolong commune of Jingning County was set up in shanjiliang.
In June 1961, it was divided into Yangchuan commune and Baibao commune; in December of the same year, when Zhuanglang administrative region was restored, it was Wolong commune in Zhuanglang County.
In 1964, the Bai Bao commune was abolished and the original team belonged to it.
In 1980, Baibao commune was restored.
In 1983, it was changed to Wolong township.
In 2004, Shaxiao Baibao Township put Houliang, Yangwei, Qiugou, Qiuliang, Liuli, Luojia and shanghaojia under its jurisdiction into Wolong township.
In 2015, it was renamed Wolong Town.

Wolong Town has rolling hills and ravines. The terrain is high in the northeast and low in the southwest. The highest point is at the top of Jiliang mountain in Taijia village. The lowest point is located in Weijiagou village, Shuanghe Town, at an altitude of 1524 meters.

The main rivers are Hulu River, Zhuanglang River, Yulin ditch, Shuiwei ditch, etc. Hulu river flows from north to south through the western boundary of mianligou, Majiagou and zhangyujia villages, and enters Yangchuan Township, with a length of 12 km; Zhuanglang river flows through the north of the town, which is the boundary river with Nanhu Town, with a length of 3.8 km; Yulin Valley flows from Xiayang village, weijiachuan estuary, through Xiayang village and Sunhe village, into Zhuanglang River in zhangjiayuan, with a length of 4.5 km; shuizhougou originates from liuluo village Through four villages of liuluo, Qiugou, weijiawan and Shuanghe Town, it enters Yangchuan township at Weijiagou, with a total length of 7.8 km.
