Shuobei Tibetan township is subordinate to Datong Hui and Tu Autonomous County, Xining City, Qinghai Province. Shuobei Tibetan township is adjacent to Huzhu County in the East, LAOYESHAN in the south, Qiaotou town in the West and Dongxia town in the north. In 1937, shuobei township was established. In 1951, it was changed into the fourth district and the second township. In 1952, shuobei township was rebuilt. In 1958, it was changed into Hongguang commune, and the following year it was changed into shuobei commune. In 1984, it was changed into shuobei Tibetan township. In August 2006, luangou township was abolished and merged into shuobei Tibetan township. In October 2019, shuobei Tibetan Township governs one community and 18 administrative villages.
In 2018, Qiaotou town has 9 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
