Pengjiazhai Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Chengxi District, Xining City, Qinghai Province, is located in the west of Chengxi district and on both sides of national highway 109. It has an east-west layout. It starts from the West Campus of Qinghai Normal University (formerly Qinghai water conservancy school) in the East, adjacent to chenjiayao of Huangzhong County in the south, yinshantang village in the West and Huangshui River in the north. The administrative area is 32.86 square kilometers.

By the end of 2018, 25293 people registered residence in Peng Jia Zhai. As of October 2019, pengjiazhai town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 12 administrative villages.

History of construction

In 1368, the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, the area has become a population gathering village in the suburbs of Xining. There were many changes before and after the establishment of Xining regime, and the subordinate relationship of pengjiazhai area has been inherited along with the change, but the jurisdiction has not changed.

In 1999, pengjiazhai township was abolished and pengjiazhai town was established. The Yangjiazhai village and sujiahewan village in pengjiazhai township are under Hutai street. Chenguang village, the former shenjiazhai Township, is under the jurisdiction of pengjiazhai Town, while the residents committee of Xichuan South Road, the former Hutai street, is under the jurisdiction of pengjiazhai town.

Pengjiazhai town is located in the Huangshui River Valley, high in the South and low in the north. The terrain is divided into two zones: Hilly and shallow mountain zone in the South and piedmont plain zone in the northeast. The main mountains are Langgou, hanjiayahuo, nanzhangling, daguling, shuishuigou and Dananshan. Daguling, the highest peak in the territory, is located in Danan mountain, with an altitude of 3200 meters; the lowest point is located along the Huangshui River, with an altitude of 2230 meters.
