Zhayou Township

Zhayou Township, belonging to Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the south of Xiahe County. It is adjacent to Hezuo city in the East, Bola Township in the southeast, amuquhu town in the southwest, and Sangke, Damai Township and Labrang town in the northwest. The area is 378.28 square kilometers. In 2018, 4074 people registered residence.

In 1913, it was under the administration of Labrang. In 1919, it belonged to Xiahe County. In 1949, it was a township directly under Xiahe County. In 1958, it was assigned to Taojiang County. In 1961, it belongs to Xiahe County. In June 2020, Zhayou township has jurisdiction over three administrative villages.

At the end of 2011, the total agricultural output value of Zhayou Township reached 16 million yuan, an increase of 27% over the previous year, and the agricultural added value was 4 million yuan; the total output value of animal husbandry was 11 million yuan, accounting for 68.75% of the total agricultural output value, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2608 yuan.

Zhayou township is located in the eastern edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The terrain is valley land. The main mountain ranges are niangmuta mountain. Jiangele, the highest peak in the territory, is located in zhayoudao administrative village, with an altitude of 4050 meters; tangseer natural village, the lowest point, has cultivated land in zhayouman administrative village, with an altitude of 3117 meters.
