EULA town
Oula Town, subordinate to Maqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the Midwest of Maqu County. It is adjacent to Hequ horse farm of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the East, awankang Township and muxihe Township in the south, connected by Animaqing mountain (Jishi mountain), Oula xiuma Township in the West, NIMA town in the north and Henan Mongolian Autonomous County of Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province across the Yellow River. The area is 1383.87 square kilometers. In 2018, 5415 people registered residence.
Before 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Labrang monastery. In 1954, it was under the jurisdiction of Maqu administrative committee. In 1958, Euler commune was established. In 1962, it was changed into Oula township. At the end of 1968, it was changed into Euler commune. On November 25, 1983, the commune was changed to a township. In 2018, the township will be changed into a town. In June 2020, the town will have six administrative villages.
In 2018, there were three industrial enterprises in Oula town.
Historical evolution
Before 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Labrang monastery.

Oula town is located at the foot of the eastern end of Jishi mountain. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the Northeast because of the East-West crossing of Animaqing mountain. The altitude ranges from 3500 to 4000 meters, with the highest peak at qiaogeri (4806 meters above sea level), and the lowest point at waher (3448 meters above sea level) along the west section of the Yellow River.

The annual average temperature in Oula town is 1.9 ℃, the average temperature in January is - 7.9 ℃, the extreme minimum temperature is - 20.4 ℃ (January 17, 2012); the average temperature in July is 11.6 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 26.5 ℃ (July 18, 2012). The average annual precipitation is 437.5 mm (the rain gauge tube of the regional station is opened from June to September). The rainfall is concentrated from July to September every year, with the most in July.
