Huangniwan Town, belonging to Linxia County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the east of Linxia County, adjacent to Lupan Township in the East, Sanshipu Township and Majiabao Township in Hezheng County in the south, Yulin Township in the southwest, Minzhu Township in the West and Nanlong town in Linxia city in the North. The area is 20.98 square kilometers. In 2018, 12731 people registered residence.
In 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of Nanlong district. In December of the same year, Oxford township was merged into huangniwan township. In September 1958, Nanlong people's commune was established, which has four brigades under its jurisdiction. Today, the village is one of the four brigades. At the end of 1958, Linxia county was abolished and Nanlong commune was subordinate to Linxia city. In May 1961, it was divided into small communes and changed into huangniwan commune. In 1973, the system of Linxia city was abolished, and huangniwan township is subordinate to Linxia county. In June 2020, huangniwan town governs 10 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in huangniwan town and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
