Lipu town
Libu Town, subordinate to Jingchuan County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the north of Jingchuan County, where the "three counties and two cities" meet. It is adjacent to Ningxian and Hesheng town of Qingyang City in the East, luohantong Township and Jingming Township in the south, Honghe Township and Shangxiao township of Zhenyuan County in the west, and Xiaojin town of Xifeng District in the north. The total area of the administrative area is 113.46 square kilometers, and the registered residence population of Libao town was 33194 as of the end of 2018.
Libu town was named after the Lijia fort built here in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Jin village. Before 1949, it was Jingyang Township first, and then Libu town. After 1949, Libao district was established. In December 1996, the township was withdrawn and Libu town was built. As of June 2020, Libu town has jurisdiction over 17 administrative villages.
At the end of 2011, the per capita net income of farmers in Libu town was 3756 yuan. In 2018, there were 8 industrial enterprises and 20 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Libu town.
Historical evolution
Libu town was named after the Lijia fort built here in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Jin village.
Before 1949, it was Jingyang Township first, and then Libu town.
After 1949, Libao district was established.
At the end of 1957, the district was withdrawn and Libao was set up.
In 1958, the upper valley area of the upper Shaqu district and the tower bottom society of Zhenyuan County were divided into six counties, Wutong, Bei Zhuang and three agricultural associations.
In 1961, Wencheng commune was established. In the same year, the working committee of Libao district was established, which governed four communes, namely Libao commune, Wencheng commune, Honghe commune and Fengtai commune.
In 1963, Wencheng commune was incorporated into Libao commune.
In November 1983, the system of integrating government and society was abolished and the township system was restored to Libu township.
In December 1996, the township was withdrawn and Libu town was built.
