Kongtong Town, belonging to Kongtong District, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Kongtong District, on the Bank of the upper reaches of Jinghe River, adjacent to the urban area in the East, Mawu Township in the south, Jingyuan County in Ningxia in the west, and Anguo town in the north. The town people's government is 7 kilometers away from Kongtong city. The total area is 180.6 square kilometers.
In July 1953, Kongtong township was established. In June 2002, the township was removed and Kongtong town was built. As of June 2020, Kongtong town has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, and the town people's government is stationed at No. 1 Zhaizi street.
