Heli Town, which is subordinate to Gaotai County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Gaotai County, the middle of Hexi Corridor, the lower part of the middle reaches of Heihe River, adjacent to Pingchuan town of Linze County in the East, Heihe River in the south, Heiquan town in the West, and Heli mountain in the north. It covers an area of 353.27 square kilometers. In 2018, the registered residence of Heli town was 10608.

In 1983, it was changed to Heli township. In 2014, the township was replaced by township.
