Minghua town
Minghua Township, under the jurisdiction of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is located in the north of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County, the middle of Hexi Corridor, the west edge of Badain Jaran Desert, Gaotai County in the northeast and Suzhou District of Jiuquan City in the southwest. It covers an area of 1704 square kilometers. In 2018, 3710 people registered residence in Linghai.
Before 1949, it was mainly under the control of yalag and helange tribes. In February 1950, Minghua Township and Qilian Township merged to establish Qiming District, with five townships under the jurisdiction of Suzhou District of Jiuquan City, including Minghai Township and Lianhua township (including Qiantan). In December 2001, the district office moved to xusanwan village, Minghai township. In December 2004, the Minghua District Office was abolished, and Minghai Township, Lianhua Township and Qiantan Township were merged into Minghua township. As of June 2020, Minghua township has 14 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is located in xusanwan village.

Historical evolution
Before 1949, it was mainly under the control of yalag and helange tribes.
In February 1950, Minghua Township and Qilian Township merged to establish Qiming District, with five townships under the jurisdiction of Suzhou District of Jiuquan City, including Minghai Township and Lianhua township (including Qiantan).
When Sunan Yugur Autonomous County was founded in 1954, it was put under Sunan County. In the same year, Minghua district was set up separately, with jurisdiction over Minghai, Lianhua and Qiantan townships.
In 1958, it was changed into Hongxing commune, which has jurisdiction over Qiantan, Minghai and Lianhua.
In 1959, Qiming commune was established by merging with Qifeng.
In the summer of 1960, shuanghai commune was separated from Qifeng.
In 1961, shuanghai commune was divided into Minghai commune and Lianhua commune (including Qiantan commune).
In 1962, after the institutional adjustment, the Minghua District Office was re established, with jurisdiction over the three communes of Qiantan, Minghai and Lianhua.
In 1967, it was renamed Nanniwan district.
In 1971, the original name was restored, and the district office was still located in Huangtupo village, Lianhua township.
In December 2001, the district office moved to xusanwan village, Minghai township.
In December 2004, the Minghua District Office was abolished, and Minghai Township, Lianhua Township and Qiantan Township were merged into Minghua township.
