Danma Township
Danma Township, belonging to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, adjacent to Nanying township of Liangzhou District in the East, Qilian and maozang Township in the south, Huangcheng town of Sunan Yugur Autonomous County in the west, Xianmi township of Menyuan County in Qinghai Province in the southwest, and Xiying town of Liangzhou District in the north, with an area of 739.8 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Dan Ma Township was 3256.
The name of Danma township is because Danma is the name of Tibetan tribe, which means the place where the sun rises in Tibetan. Ming Zhengtong three years (1438), for the Gulang Shouyu Qianhu jurisdiction. In December 1981, it was assigned to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County. In May 1983, the commune and pasture were abolished, and Danma, TUTA and Shama townships were set up, belonging to Qilian district. In October 1985, it was named Danma township. As of June 2020, Danma township has jurisdiction over 7 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is stationed in Henglu village.

Among them, the subsidy income is 2.58 million yuan, the special fund income is 1.89 million yuan, and the fund income of benefiting farmers is 3.69 million yuan. History of construction
In the Yuan Dynasty, Danma township was under the jurisdiction of Xiliang Prefecture.
Ming Zhengtong three years (1438), for the Gulang Shouyu Qianhu jurisdiction.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of liangzhouwei.
In May 1950, it was the fifth township of Tianzhu autonomous region.
In December 1952, it was Danma Township and Shama Township, belonging to the Fifth District.
In December 1958, it belonged to Qilian commune.
In February 1959, it was assigned to Sunan County; in August of the same year, it was assigned to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County.
In July 1962, it was divided into Danma, Xishui, Shama commune and Danma ranch.
In October 1968, the three communes merged into Danma commune.
In December 1971, it was assigned to Wuwei County.
In December 1981, it was put under the jurisdiction of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County.
In May 1983, the commune and pasture were abolished, and Danma, TUTA and Shama townships were set up, belonging to Qilian district.
In October 1985, it was named Danma township.

The terrain of Danma township is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. The mountains on the three sides of the north and southwest are connected meandering. The inner flank is crisscrossed with low concave in the middle, presenting a basin shape. The main mountains are Gansha Obo, xiangshuiding, huangcaoding, etc. Daxueshan, the highest peak in the territory, is located at the southwest end of the township and the junction of maozang Township, with an altitude of 4874 meters; baishuihekou, the lowest point, is located at the southeast of the township and the junction of Liangzhou District, with an altitude of 2140 meters.

Danma township is a temperate continental arid and semi-arid climate. The precipitation is less, with the characteristics of drought, cold, windy and so on. The annual average precipitation is 420 mm, and the rainfall is mainly concentrated from June to September, accounting for more than 70% of the annual precipitation. The maximum temperature is 29.5 ℃, the minimum temperature is - 27 ℃, the annual average temperature is 1.7 ℃, the annual sunshine hours are 2450 hours, the annual evaporation is 380mm, the frost free period is 135 days, the freezing period is from mid October to next April, and the maximum freezing depth is 1.7m.
hydrology
Danma Township belongs to Shiyang River system. The main rivers are Xishui River, Dashui River, TUTA River and Baishui River. The river is about 21 km long, which is a seasonal river.
natural disaster
The main natural disasters in Danma township are drought, flood, frost, locust and so on. The most serious flood disaster occurred on June 7, 2002. Seven villages in Danma Township were affected to varying degrees, especially the three villages of Xishui, xishuihe and Dashui, which caused 1600 mu of crops to be flooded, more than 1600 head (head) and small livestock to be washed away by the flood, and roads, bridges, trees, houses and other buildings along the river were destroyed, resulting in a direct economic loss of 3.7 million yuan.
