Yanxia Township

Yanxia Township, one of the 27 key old towns in the province, is located at the junction of three counties (Yangxin, Wuning and Tongshan) in Hubei and Jiangxi provinces. It is adjacent to national highway 106 in the front, and passes through the township by Daguang Expressway. It is backed by Taiping mountain, which has beautiful scenery and is yet to be developed. The township covers an area of 186.88 square kilometers (in 2017), with a population of 28027 (in 2017), under the jurisdiction of 18 administrative villages and 1 neighborhood committee. In 2003, the total output value of industry and agriculture was 120 million yuan, and the financial revenue was 2.1 million yuan. The territory is rich in mineral resources, and has great potential for the development of aquatic products, forest, marble, etc.

The agricultural development has gradually formed the animal husbandry with Nanjiang Yellow sheep as the main body, with 6500 yellow sheep per year; the aquaculture with baiting cage and blocking culture as the main body, with 1500 baiting cages; the breeding varieties are mainly famous and high-quality fish such as anchovy, XENOCYPRIS, perch, etc., with an annual output of 250 tons.
