Liqiao town
Li Qiao Town, belonging to Maiji District, Tianshui, Gansu, is located in the southeast of Maiji District, east of Fengxian County, Shaanxi Province, and is home to the county of Zhang county, west of the town of Dang Chuan, and north to the town of three Cha, with a total area of 554.55 square kilometers. In 2018, the registered residence population was 4803.
Since the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty, it was sanchating's territory. At the beginning of the reign of Tingzhi, Sancha Village was set up in the territory, and Liqiao camp was set up in Liqiao city. After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belongs to the Sixth District. In 1937, Liqiao town was established. In 1954, Xianping township was set up again. In February 1966, four communes were merged into Liqiao commune. In December 1983, Liqiao commune was abolished and changed into Liqiao township. In October 2015, the township was set up. As of June 2020, Liqiao town has 8 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In 1951, Liqiao town was changed into a township, and Longmen township was set up separately.
In 1954, Xianping township was set up again.
In 1956, Xianping was merged into Liqiao township.
In March 1958, Liqiao district was abolished; in September, Liqiao, Baihua and Longmen formed Liqiao commune.
In July 1961, Liqiao district was established. The former Liqiao commune was divided into three communes: Liqiao commune, Xicha commune and Wujiahe commune.
In 1962, Xianping commune was established.
In February 1966, four communes were merged into Liqiao commune.
In December 1983, Liqiao commune was abolished and changed into Liqiao township.
In October 2015, the township was set up.
