Caowotan town
Caowotan Town, belonging to Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located in the north of Jingtai County, bordering Wufo Township in the East, Tiaoshan town in the south, Sitan Township in the west, and Shawo town in the northwest. The enclave is in the northeast, adjacent to Zhongwei City in Ningxia Hui Autonomous region in the north and Southeast, with a total administrative area of 549 square kilometers.
Yangzhuang commune was established on June 25, 1980, and changed to Caowotan town on April 23, 2002. By the end of 2018, the population of huwo Tan town registered residence was 22574. In June 2020, Caowotan town governs 18 administrative villages.
The main food crops in Caowotan town are corn and wheat; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep and poultry. In 2018, there were 18 industrial enterprises in Caowotan Town, including 7 above scale enterprises and 6 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
On June 25, 1980, Yangzhuang commune was established.
On November 10, 1982, it was renamed Caowotan commune.
On September 1, 1983, it was changed into Caowotan township.
On April 23, 2002, it was changed into Caowotan town.
In December 2004, seven villages in badaoquan Township were transferred to Caowotan town.
Badaoquan township is located in the middle of Jingtai County, 6 kilometers away from the county. It is located at the southeast foot of Changling mountain and the northwest is mountainous area. There are Ming the Great Wall, Wutong Mountain and so on. Badaoquan commune was established in 1980, and the township was changed in 1983. In 1996, with an area of 228 square kilometers and a population of 9000, it has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, namely badaoquan, Fengquan, Hongliuquan, Qingquan, yujiayao, Qingcheng, baihuawan, qingshidun, Yushu, duanjiajing, Bianwai, Wangzhuang, liehushan and Changfeng. In January 2005, badaoquan township was abolished, four villages including duanjiajing, Wangzhuang, Yushu and Bianwai were merged into shangshawo Town, and seven villages including Qingcheng, Qingquan, badaoquan, liehushan, Changfeng, Fengquan and qingshidun were merged into Caowotan town.

In June 2020, Caowotan town governs 18 administrative villages: Xinjian village, Heizuizi village, gongjiawan village, Xindun village, Changcheng village, Xihe village, sandaoliang village, Hongyue village, Yangzhuang village, chencao village, Cuiliu village, badaoquan village, Qingquan village, Changfeng Village, liehushan village, Qingcheng village, Fengquan village and qingshidun Village. The town people's government is stationed in Xihe village.

Most of Caowotan town belongs to the transitional zone between Tengger Desert and Loess Plateau, with the terrain slightly higher in the West and lower in the East, higher in the north and lower in the south. The highest point, Cuiliu village, is located at huangcaotang mountain peak, with an altitude of 2018 meters; the lowest point, chencao village, is located at paijianqu, with an altitude of 1534 meters.

Caowotan town belongs to the Yellow River system. From the southeast of Cuiliu village, the Yellow River flows from south to north to Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with a length of 30 km.
