Liwu town
Liwu Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Lixian County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of Lixian County. It is located in the southwest of Li County, bordering Liushi town in the East, Nanzhuang Town in the south, Boye County in the west, Xiaochen Township in the northwest and Xinxing town in the northeast. The maximum distance between East and West is 15.62 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 13.2 km, with a total area of 99.48 square kilometers. At the end of 2018, the total registered residence of Liwu town was 104968.
Liwu town gets its name because it belongs to ancient Liwu. In 1953, Chengguan town was built. In 1958, Lixian County of Gaoyang was called Liwu town of Gaoyang County. In December 1961, the organizational system of Li county was restored and Chengguan people's commune was built. In 1987, it was renamed Liwu town. As of June 2020, Liwu town has jurisdiction over 7 communities and 41 administrative villages, and its people's government is located in Yongsheng North Street. Liwu town is "one of the first batch of pilot towns for comprehensive reform of small towns in China", "provincial advanced unit" and "provincial garden unit". The main cultural relic of Liwu town is dasongtai, which is the planting site of Chinese national geographical indication product -- Li County yam.
In 2013, the total agricultural output value of Liwu town was 243 million yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 8425 yuan, an increase of 16% over the previous year, and the total industrial output value was 4.5 billion yuan. In 2018, there were 225 industrial enterprises in Liwu Town, including 14 large-scale enterprises and 36 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In 1953, Chengguan town was built.
In 1957, Chengguan Township was rebuilt.
In 1958, Lixian County of Gaoyang was called Liwu town of Gaoyang County.
In December 1961, the organizational system of Li county was restored and Chengguan people's commune was built.
In 1984, it was rebuilt as Chengguan town.
In 1987, it was renamed Liwu town.
In 1996, Balizhuang Township and beinanwang Township were merged.

Liwu town is located in the North China Plain, the ground is flat and open. The west is the terminal plain of alluvial fan in the piedmont of Taihang Mountains, and the other is the modern river diversion and alluvial plain of the * Zhu River and so on. The area is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with an average elevation of 15.6m and a slope of 0.3-0.1 ‰. It slopes slowly without obvious fluctuation.

History and culture
Original name
Liwu town got its name because it was the land of ancient Liwu.
cultural relics and historic sites
Dasongtai, located 300 meters southeast of dasongcun village, Liwu Town, Lixian County, was identified as the tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty by the cultural relics department in 1976. The sealed earth of the Song Dynasty is 15 meters high and round, covering an area of 3782 square meters. During the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, the "Qingliang Temple" was built in Song Dynasty, but now it is abandoned.
On July 23, 1982, dasongtai was announced as the second batch of provincial cultural relics by the people's Government of Hebei Province
