Honggu Town, belonging to Honggu District, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the middle of Honggu District, adjacent to Huazhuang town in the East, Huangshui River in the south, Minhe Hui and Tu Autonomous County in Qinghai Province, Haishiwan town in the west, and Beishan in the north, connecting Yongdeng County. The area is 163.2 square kilometers. In 2018, 14063 people registered residence.
In June 1983, it was changed to Honggu township. In 2015, the township was replaced by township. In June 2020, Honggu town has one community and eight administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 7 industrial enterprises in Honggu town and 16 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of the chieftain of Liancheng Lu.
After 1932, it gradually came under the jurisdiction of Yongdeng County.
In April 1960, when Honggu District was established, it was changed into Honggu commune.
In June 1983, it was changed to Honggu township.
In 2015, the township was replaced by township.
