Yanping town
Yanping town belongs to Shanyang County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the southeast of Shanyang County, it borders Zhaochuan town and Tianqiao town in the East, judge town and Shifosi town in the south, judge town in the west, Zhongcun town and Yinhua town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 13.1 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 16.2 km, covering a total area of 181.5 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Yanping town has 11 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, 15567 people registered residence in Yan Ping town. In 2014, the per capita net income of farmers in Yanping town was 7053 yuan.
Historical evolution
In the early Qing Dynasty, Yan family lived, so it was named yanjiaping, and later evolved into Yanping.
In February 1950, Yanping township was set up, belonging to four districts (Manchuan).
In May 1953, it belongs to eight districts (Xiquan).
In February 1956, it belongs to Manchuan district.
In November 1958, it was changed into a production management area, belonging to Heping (Xiquan) commune.
In August 1961, it was changed into Yanping commune.
In September 1984, the township was restored.
In April 1997, Majiadian township was incorporated into the city.
In June 2011, Yanping Township and Xiquan Township were abolished and Yanping town was merged.

Tributaries are Haoping River, Quanhe River, Lijia River, etc.
