Guanyuan town belongs to Langao County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the southwest of Langao County, it borders Shimen town in the East, Chengkou County of Chongqing in the south, BANTAO town of Ziyang County in the West and Yanmen town in the north. Historical evolution
During the reign of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1796-1820), Yang Yuchun, governor of Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, suppressed the white lotus sect. Civil servants and military generals gathered and stationed here, so it was named Guanyuan. Later, it was changed to Guanyuan.
In Qing Dynasty, it was the official garden guard of Xixiang.
At the beginning of the Republic of China, it was the official garden guard of the western district.
In 1941, it was the four guarantees of Shangxin township.
In December 1949, it was divided into districts. Guanyuan belonged to Tiefo district.
In 1955, it was changed to Guanyuan District, with jurisdiction over Guanyuan, Dongshan, Furong, Hengxi and Dabei townships.
In November 1996, the three townships of Guanyuan, Dongshan and Dabei in the former Guanyuan District merged to establish Guanyuan town.
