Balasu town belongs to Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Yuyang District, adjacent to Xiaojihan Township in the East, BOLUO town in Hengshan County in the south, hongshiqiao Township in the West and bulanghe Township in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 25 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 29 kilometers, with a total area of 446 square kilometers.

Historical evolution
"Balasu" is a Mongolian transliteration, which means a place with castle or ancient city ruins. It got its name from the people's Government of the town in Balasu.
Before April 1950, it was subordinate to Hengshan County and set up Hebei District.
In April 1950, it was divided into Yulin County, where there were Northwest District, nine district, thirteen district and Balasu district.
In September 1958, Balasu commune was established.
In May 1961, Balasu and hujingtu communes were established.
In September 1965, hujingtu commune was withdrawn, with 16 production teams under its jurisdiction.

Also known as baichengtai, it is located in Balasu Town, Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province.
