Liping town

Liping town belongs to Nanzheng District, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Nanzheng District, adjacent to Lianghe town and Huangguan town in the East, Gucheng town of Wangcang County in Sichuan Province in the south, Erlangba town of Ningqiang County in the West and qishuba town of Mian County in the north. Its total area is 366.52 square kilometers.

In Liping Town, there is one Liping National Forest Park, two Liping reclamation area and two sites of Anhan old residence.

As of June 2020, Liping town has one community and eight administrative villages. By the end of 2018, 7577 people registered residence in Liping town. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Liping town reached 98.06 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 51 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 34 million yuan.

Historical evolution

Originally named Yuanba Town, later renamed Liping town because of Liping National Forest Park.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Baocheng, Ningqiang and Nanzheng counties.

Before the thirtieth year of the Republic of China (1941), it was Jing'an Township in Ningqiang County; after the establishment of Liping reclamation area under the Ministry of agriculture and forestry of the Chongqing government of the Kuomintang, it belonged to this reclamation area.

In 1944, the reclamation area was abolished and returned to Ningqiang County.

After October 1949, it became Jing'an District of Ningqiang County.

In December 1952, on the basis of Jing'an District of Ningqiang County, five townships of Weijiaqiao, tangjiaba, SHUITIANBA, Lijiaba and sunjialing were set up from Ningqiang County; four townships of Yunhe, Zhifang, Gangchang and Daheba were set up from Baocheng County; three townships of qishuba, fangjiawan and xiaohemiao were set up from Mianxian County; two townships of miaoba and maliuba were set up from Nanzheng County.

In 1957, sandaohe Township, Wangcang County, Sichuan Province was divided into Liping district.

In 1958, the establishment of Liping central district was abolished.

In September 1961, Yuanba District of Nanzheng County was established, with a district office located in Yuanba village. It has jurisdiction over Liping Township, Wuxing Township, Yuanba Township and Weijiaqiao township.

In 1996, Yuanba town was established by withdrawing the district and merging the town.

In 2002, Liping township was merged into Yuanba town.

In July 2011, it was renamed Liping town.

By the end of 2011, Liping town had jurisdiction over one community of Yuanba community, nine administrative villages of Liping, Longshan, washixi, Yuanba, erlangmiao, wulangba, Songping, qiyazi and Taoyuan, and 46 villager groups.
