Huangguan town

Huangguan town belongs to Nanzheng District, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southwest of Nanzheng District, adjacent to Qingshu town in the East, Hongmiao town in the south, Guangwushan Town, Nanjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, Lianshui town in the West and Xinji Town in the north. Its total area is 260.2 square kilometers.

Huangguan town has a National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot, a hongsihu scenic spot, a retaining wall pass site, ancient town relics such as Huangguan, Tangkou and miaoba, qierzhai Taoist temple, Yunhe and miaoba, which are part of Liping National Forest Park.

Historical evolution

It is said that during the Northern Song Dynasty, there was a man surnamed Huang who worked as an official in the capital, so it was called Huang Guan.

In Qing Dynasty, it was the site of Huangguan inspection department in Baocheng county.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), there was a county assistant.

After 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Baocheng county.

In 1961, it was transferred to Nanzheng County and Huangguan commune was established.

In 1969, it was renamed Lingzhen commune.

In 1982, it was changed to Huangguan township.

In 1984, Huangguan town was established by withdrawing districts and merging towns.

In 1996, Shuijing Township and Gaoshi Township were merged.

In 2011, Yunhe and dianzi villages in Tangkou Township and Weijiaqiao township of Huangguan town were merged into Huangguan town.
