Wazijie town

Wazijie town belongs to Huanglong County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the northern mountainous area of Huanglong County, adjacent to Danzhou town of Yichuan County in the East, Getai Township in the southeast, Yaoxian Township in the south, Puti township of Luochuan County in the West and Yingwang township of Yichuan County in the north. It is the "North Gate" of Huanglong county. The maximum distance from east to west is 32.7 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 22.3 kilometers, with a total area of 410.86 square kilometers.

Wazijie town has a national key martyr memorial building protection unit, wazijie battle martyrs cemetery, a provincial cultural relics protection unit, xiaosizhuang grottoes, and a patriotism education base.

As of June 2020, wazijie town has three administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence population of Watts street town was 2047. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of wazijie town was 12.29 million yuan.

Historical evolution

It is said that the city building was built here in the early Tang Dynasty, and it was named red city because of the red brick. During the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1821-1850), a village named dizi street was set up here. Later, because there was wazhatan in the new village, it was homonymous that dizi street was wazijie village. The town is named after the village.

In 1941, Zhongzheng township was set up in Huanglong.

In 1948, it was designated as wazijie Township, five districts of Huanglong county.

In 1958, the patriotic commune was established.

In 1961, it was changed into Wazi Street commune.

In 1984, wazijie township was established.

In October 2001, xiaosizhuang Township and wazijie Township were abolished and wazijie town was merged.

By the end of 2011, wazijie town had jurisdiction over six administrative villages, including wazijie, xiaosizhuang, yuanduo, fozhuangsi, renjiawan and Caijiachuan, with 23 villager groups.

Huanglong Mountain Scenic Spot

Huanglong Mountain scenic area is a national AAAA scenic area, 2.5km southwest of Huanglong County, covering an area of 74 hectares, with the highest altitude of 1250m.
