In 1072 ad, Linjin county was abolished and merged into Pu'an County (now Jian'an town). Now Siyi town belongs to Pu'an County.
During the Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, ten states, song, yuan and Ming Dynasties (581-1644 AD), the territory of today's Siyi town was under the jurisdiction of the historical system of today's Jiange county (Huyuan County, Linjin county and Pu'an County in turn).
During the period of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China (1644-1949), the territory of Siyi town was transferred from Jian Zhou Pu'an County (now Jian Ge county) to Nanbu county.
New China period
In 1953, Siyi town was transferred from Nanbu county to Langzhong county (Nanchong District, Nanchong district and Nanchong City in turn, and changed to Langzhong City in 1991).
