Baibao town belongs to Wuqi County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southwest of Wuqi County, bordering Zhidan County in the East, Huachi County in Gansu Province in the southwest, gongguanmiao town in the northwest and Wuqi town in the northeast. The maximum distance between East and West is 26 kilometers, and the maximum distance between North and south is 32 kilometers, with a total area of 473.80 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

According to legend, the Tang dynasty built a city in the northwest of Baibao Sichuan, named Baibao City, later referred to as Baibao.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was called Baibao township.

In 1958, Baibao commune was established.

In 1984, Baibao township was established.

In 2002, it merged with loufangping township to set up Baibao town.
