Yongfa Township
Yongfa township is under the jurisdiction of Longjiang County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. It is located in the middle of the county, on the West Bank of Yalu River, and adjacent to Jingxing town in the south. The township government is 27 kilometers away from the county seat.
In 2017, the administrative area was 16502 hectares, with 14582 permanent residents.
After the founding of the Republic of China, Yongfa township was under the jurisdiction of Jingxing Administrative Bureau in March 1915. In January 1929, the Bureau was changed into a county under the jurisdiction of Jingxing county. After the fall of Northeast China, it was the Second District of Jingxing county at first, and then it was set up in Jiacun. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was under the jurisdiction of the third district and then the Sixth District. In April 1955, it was transferred to duibaoshan district. In March 1956, after Jingxing county was merged into Longjiang County, Daduchuan township was set up. In June 1958, it was incorporated into duibaoshan Township and renamed duibaoshan people's commune in September of the same year. In 1960, it was transferred from duibao commune to Yongfa commune. In April 1970, Changfa, Jingshan, wobao and self-defense production brigade of Jingxing commune were assigned to Yongfa commune. In May 1984, it was changed into Yongfa township. Yongfa township is located in hilly area, with many hills, and Dajingshan in the west, with an altitude of 372.8 meters. The township covers a total area of 16502 hectares, with 120000 mu of arable land and 27000 mu of grassland. Township run industries include agricultural machinery repair, weaving, quarries, etc., producing more than one million brooms, ranking first in the county. The township governs 15 villages, including Yongfa, Qingfeng, self-defense, Wopu, Jingshan, Xinxing, Xinmin, Xinfa, Yongle, Daduchuan, Yuejin, Shengji, cornucopia and improved variety farm. In 2017, there were 14582 permanent residents, of which the Manchu and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 2%. The township government is located in Yongfa village.
