Chongning town
Chongning town belongs to Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the south of Linwei District, Chongning tableland (also known as Changren tableland) borders Gaotang town of Huaxian County in the East, Qiaonan town in the south, Yancun town in the West and Fengyuan town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 6 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 8.9 kilometers, with a total area of 34.4 square kilometers.
There is a "Chongning Temple" in the southeast of Chongning Town, which is the name of the town. Chongning town is one of the birthplaces of Weihua uprising in 1928. It has a long revolutionary history and is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Weinan City.
As of June 2020, Chongning town has 12 administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence of Chong Zhen town was 26560. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Chongning town reached 120 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 47 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 12.1 million yuan.
Historical evolution
It was named after Chongning temple built in Zhendong in Qing Dynasty.
The ancient name of Dugu village was named after the residence of Dugu Jialuo, the empress of Yang Jian, Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty. Later, it was changed to Chongning town because Chongning temple was built in Zhendong in Qing Dynasty.
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was the Qingsi temple in Shenchuan township.

In May 1949, Chongning township was set up, which is subordinate to Chongning district and has jurisdiction over 8 villages.
In September 1958, it belonged to Changfeng commune.
