Changning town
Changning Town, belonging to Yongshou County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northeast of the county. It borders Nanfang town of Liquan County in the East, Fengyang town of Qian County in the south, Mafang town in the West and Guanzhuang town of Chunhua County across the Jinghe River in the north. With a total area of 162 square kilometers and a total resident population of 41001 (2017).
In Song Dynasty, it was named Changning village. Around 1115, it was renamed Changning town. In June 1984, it was renamed Changning Township, Dou Township and Shangyi Township during the institutional reform, and Changning town in July of the same year. In April 1998, it was renamed Doujia town. In 2011, Shangyi township was removed and incorporated into Changning town. On June 28, 2015, Doujia town was abolished and merged into Changning town. As of October 2019, Changning town has jurisdiction over 35 administrative villages.

Historical evolution
In the Tang Dynasty, Changxing temple was built, and then Changning temple was changed to Changning temple.
In the Song Dynasty, a village was set up in Changning town (equivalent to the military system at the county level), named Changning village. Because local people often trade agricultural and sideline products here, market towns gradually formed.
Around 1115, it was renamed Changning town.
In 1621-1627, Changning Li and Qiang Hua Li were set up in Changning.

In 2005, the former Doujia town had 14 administrative villages and 36 villager groups, including Heping, Huijia, xiadoujia, hujiazui, Doujia, zuocan, Liangcun, Sanfeng, Yangjialing, wangjiazui, nanshanshi, Dianzitou, Liangdian and Hetan.
In 2005, Shangyi Township had 14 administrative villages, 18 natural villages and 45 villagers' groups, including Shangyi, Xiayi, Shiqiaotou, caodei, Fengjia, Xianjia, Aoli, Dongling, qiaozitou, beishunshi, Youfang village, Qianjia, yingni village and Xiaozhang.
As of October 2019, Changning town has jurisdiction over 35 administrative villages.

Changning town is located in the northeast of Yongshou County, at the junction of qianliyong three counties, bordering Nanfang town of Liquan County in the East, Wufeng mountain in the South and Fengyang town of Qianxian County in the south, Mafang town in the West and Guanzhuang town of Chunhua County in the north across the Jinghe River. The total area is 162 square kilometers.

The former Changning town is located in the gully area of loess broken tableland, which is inclined to the East, South and North. There are many hills and gullies in the north and flat in the south. The altitude is 1000-1300 meters.
Yuandoujia town is divided into East and West tableland by dianzitougou. It is gentle in the East and inclined from south to North in the West. Wufeng mountain lies in the south, with the highest peak at 1467 meters above sea level.
The former Shangyi rural tableland is relatively complete and gentle, accounting for 61% of the total area.

The main rivers in Changning town are Jing River, Sancha River and Dianzitou river. The drainage area of Jinghe River is 26.8 square kilometers, and that of Sancha River is 12.6 square kilometers. Jinghe River flows through the north end with an average annual discharge of 60.97 m2 / s and a maximum flood of 9200 m3 / s. There is a hydropower station. The Three Gorges river flows through the south end.
