Zhuxi Township

Zhuxi township is located in the northwest of Shengzhou City, 29 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Wangyuan Township in the East, Shihuang town in the south, Zhuji City in the West and Gulai town in the north.

Historical evolution

The origin of rural name

According to legend, in ancient times, there were bitter bamboo forests on both sides of the stream, so it was named kuzhuxi. The village was named after the stream, and the township was named after its residence. After liberation, it was called Zhuxi.

At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Shuner township. Zhuxi township was established in 1950 and merged with xujiapei Township into XuXi Township in March 1956. Peikeng, Ziyan and Bancheng villages were merged into Wangyuan Township, while nianjiashan, zhanjianwu and zhengwukeng villages were merged into lvao township. In October 1958, it was the XuXi administrative area of Beishan people's commune. In November 1961, based on Zhuxi and xujiapei townships, Zhuxi and Yahuang people's communes were established respectively. In October 1983, Zhuxi township was established. Zhuxi industry is mainly a resource-based, labor-intensive and ecological health-care private enterprise, with one refined tea factory, two water pump factories, three silk weaving gathering areas and four bamboo and rattan products factories.

Bamboo shoots, Torreya grandis and tea are traditional products of Zhuxi township. There are more than 3000 mu bamboo shoot and bamboo dual-use bases in the township, with yangkeng village as the focus to develop a new variety of "red shell" wild mountain bamboo shoots. At the same time, it actively develops the individual and private economy focusing on bamboo products processing. There are more than 50 self-employed households engaged in rattan bamboo products processing in the township, and the product supply exceeds the demand, which makes the bamboo price double. The bamboo rattan processing industry has become a major pillar of the township economy. Torreya grandis mainly distributed in zhengwuhang village Buquan Township, actively promote new agricultural technology, technical training for Torreya grandis, and gradually make the dry fruit industry become the pillar industry of the township. .
