Zhaoling town
Zhaoling Town, belonging to Liquan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the north of Liquan County, adjacent to Zhaoling community in the south, Shitan town in the West and Chigan town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 11 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 13.75 kilometers, with a total area of 128.33 square kilometers.
Zhaoling town is named after Zhaoling, the mausoleum of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty (Li Shimin). It is one of the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
As of June 2020, Zhaoling town has 30 administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence population was 47163. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Zhaoling town reached 419 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 91 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 262 million yuan.
Historical evolution
It is named after Zhaoling, the mausoleum of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty (Li Shimin).
On May 18, 1949, Liquan was liberated. There were six districts in the county. Jianling belonged to the Fifth District and governed eight townships.
In January 1956, five districts (Jianling) were abolished.
In December 1958, Jianling township was established.
In 1961, it was renamed Jianling commune.
At the end of 1984, the commune was changed into a township and town, and it was renamed Jianling people's government.
On July 1, 1997, it was renamed Jianling town.
In April 2011, Jianling town and Zhaoling Township merged into Zhaoling town.

Water system hydrology
The geological structure and hydrogeological conditions in Zhaoling town are complicated, and the groundwater resources are short. The territory is Jinghe River system. The main river originates from heiniubifeng spring in shiquangou at the junction of Zhaoling and Nanfang, and flows into Ganhe river at the exit of mozhang, with a length of about 10.4 km.

Zhaoling is the joint Tomb of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin and empress Wende Chang sun. It is located on the main peak of jiugu mountain, Yanxia Town, Liquan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. It is a national AAA tourist attraction. Zhaoling is 70 kilometers away from Xi'an, 30 kilometers away from Xianyang and 25 kilometers away from Xianyang International Airport.
From the first burial of empress Wende in 636 to the 29th year of Kaiyuan (741), the construction of Zhaoling has lasted for 107 years, with a circumference of 60 kilometers and an area of 200 square kilometers.
