Lingyuan town
Lingyuan Town, belonging to Qian County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the east of Qian county. It is adjacent to Chengguan town of Liquan County in the East, Xuelu town in the south, Yanghong town in the west, Dayang town in the northwest, Shitan town of Liquan County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 7.0 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 6.2 km, with a total area of 35.39 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Lingyuan town has seven administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence of Lingyuan town was 23679. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Lingyuan town reached 60 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 320 million yuan.
Historical evolution
In Tang Dynasty, Lingyuan temple was built here, so it was named.
In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Qin Dynasty.
In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Qili belonged to chexiang, which was later divided into yangsuli and jiaoshili.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Yangzhuang joint protection.
In June 1949, it belongs to Yangzhuang district.
In March 1956, Lingyuan township was established.
In September 1958, the three townships of Yanghong, Lingyuan and Dayang were merged into Dongfeng commune.
In 1958, Daxian county was withdrawn, Dongfeng commune was renamed Yanghong commune, and Lingyuan was under its jurisdiction.
In 1961, Yanghong commune was divided into Yanghong commune and Dayang commune. Lingyuan belonged to Yanghong commune.
In the cultural revolution, it was renamed Dongfeng commune.
In May 1971, Lingyuan commune was established.
In 1984, Lingyuan commune was changed into Lingyuan township.
In 1997, it was renamed Lingyuan town.
