During the period of the Republic of China, donghuayuan town was a district of Huailai County; in November 1987, it was changed from donghuayuan town to donghuayuan town. History of construction

During the period of the Republic of China, donghuayuan town was a district of Huailai County.

At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to four districts of Huailai County.

In August 1958, the garden commune was established.

In July 1982, Huayuan commune was renamed donghuayuan commune.

In May 1984, donghuayuan commune was changed into donghuayuan township.

In November 1987, it was changed from donghuayuan township to donghuayuan town.

In April 1996, dongzhuangzi township was merged into donghuayuan town.
