Yabai Town, belonging to Zhouzhi County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the west of Zhouzhi County. It is adjacent to situn town in the East, Cuifeng town in the south, Qinghua town in the west, Weihe River central line in the north, Yangling Demonstration Area and Wugong County of Xianyang city across the river, with a total area of 43.74 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

The origin of place names

It was named "Taibai town" in ancient times at the foot of Taibai Mountain. Later, it was called "Yabai town" in Ming Dynasty. It was also called "Yabai town" in Yongzheng period of Qing Dynasty and "Yabai" in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. It was renamed "Yabai" after the first year of the Republic of China (1912).

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was named "Yabai" and belonged to Erqu district.

In October 1949, the Yabai township government was established, with jurisdiction over 40 natural villages.

In February 1958, it merged with Qinghua, Cuifeng and Zhuyu to form Xiqin commune.

In April 1959, it was renamed Yabai commune, which governs 15 administrative villages.
