CaoJun town is subordinate to Huarong County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province. It is located at the intersection of Yueyang City, Yiyang City and Changde City. It is on the southwest border of Huarong County, surrounded by the East and West branches of Ouchi river. Provincial highway 306 and Yuechang Expressway pass through. The town is connected with Xinjian Township in the northwest, songjiazui town in the north, Nanxian County in the southwest and Xinhe Township and Jinggang town in the East.

It is said that during the Southern Song Dynasty, Yue Fei was ordered to suppress Yang Yao and trained in the village of Cao Jun in the town. He was called Cao Jun Chang, which is the origin of the town's name.
History of construction
Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, the town belonged to Meishi township of Huarong County and Yuejun township of Shishou county. after the founding of new China, ten townships including Yuecheng, CaoJun and Mucheng were built successively. In 1956, Cao Jun township was established. On October 19, 1958, according to the notice of the people's Committee of Huarong County, Dongfeng people's commune was established, covering Meitian and Xinjian. In April 1961, Meitian and Xinjian were set up as the people's communes of the Cao army. The scale of the commune has been reduced to the area under the jurisdiction of today's military town, and the size of the brigade has also been reduced, changing from 6 to 28 agricultural brigades. In 1983, the people's commune of Cao Jun was changed into Cao Jun township. In 1995, with the approval of Hunan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, nanhuadu was listed as the first private economic development zone in the province. in 1997, the township was abolished and the town was rebuilt. in May 1999, the office of the town government was relocated from Nanyue temple to nanhuadu.
