Lanqiao town

Lanqiao Town, belonging to Lantian County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southeast of Lantian County and the hinterland of Qinling Mountains. It is bounded by Muhuguan Town, Shangzhou city in the East, Gepai town in the south, Wangchuan town in the West and Puhua town in the north, with a total area of 114.67 square kilometers.

The origin of place names

Lanhe, a tributary of Bahe River, got its name from the ancient bridge. In Sui Dynasty, Lanqiao post was set up. In Qing Dynasty, Lanqiao town was set up. Now it gets its name from the town government's residence in Lanqiao street.
