Gengzhen street, belonging to Gaoling District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southernmost part of Gaoling district. It is adjacent to Weihe River in the East, Xiquan street in Lintong District in the southeast, Xinhe street in Baqiao District in the south, Xinhe street in Baqiao District in the southwest, Jingwei town and Chonghuang Township across the river in the west, Zhangbu town and Yuchu town in the north, with a total area of 20.7 square kilometers.

It was called Weiqiao town in the past dynasties. In the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Gengjia town after the surname Geng.
In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Qin Dynasty.
In Han Dynasty, it belonged to Gaoling county.
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Weiqiao.
After the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Gengjia town.
After 1912, it was renamed Geng town. The latter belongs to the second district.
In August 1958, the red flag commune was established; on December 14 of the same year, it was assigned to Xi'an city.
On August 20, 1963, it returned to Gaoling county and was renamed Geng town commune.
After 1966, it was renamed Dongfanghong commune.
In 1972, it was renamed Geng town commune.
In June 1984, it was renamed Gengzhen township.
In 1986, the township was set up as Geng town.

Dongweiqiao site is located 2.6km away from the South Bank of Weihe River in baijiazui village, Gengzhen street, Gaoling District, Shaanxi Province.
