Sarkuobu township is located in the southeast of Zhaosu County, Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is adjacent to Tekes County in the East, haarke mountain in the south, Baicheng County in Aksu area across the mountain, kashagar Township in the west, and Tekes River in the north, with a total administrative area of 987.55 square kilometers.
In 1951, sarkuob Township became the third district; in 1984, sarkuob township was changed. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of sarkubo township was 13796. As of June 2020, sarkuob township has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages.
