The school covers an area of 8400 square meters, building area of 1221 square meters, playground area of 122 square meters. Due to the long time in winter and short time in summer, there is a holiday at the beginning of November and the school starts in the middle of March, which makes the teaching time of Puma Jiangtang primary school only eight months.
There are 143 students in 2006-2007 school year, including 75 girls. There are six classes in the primary school, including 18 in grade one, 21 in grade two, 33 in grade three, 19 in grade four, 26 in grade five and 26 in grade six. There are 9 teaching staff in the township, including 7 full-time teachers and 2 temporary workers.
