Nyalam County, Xigaze City, Tibet Autonomous Region. "Ya Lai" is Tibetan, which means "Yangquan above". Yalai township was established in 1960, changed to commune in 1973, and restored to township in 1984.

China Nepal highway passes through the border along the Poqu river.
