Shange town

Shange town is a town under the jurisdiction of Maonan District, Maoming City, Guangdong Province. Located in the northeast of Maonan District, it is only 7 km away from the urban area, with a total area of 44.74 square kilometers (2017). It has jurisdiction over 104 natural villages, including jintangling, Xiachi, Lucun, Shaojiu, Heyi, shange, huangjie, Gaoche, Naji, Fuju, Dongshan community neighborhood committee and waling village. The registered residence population of 40431 people (November 2020) is all Han nationality. The transportation is convenient. Maogao express line (formerly gaoshui highway) and maocang second-class highway cross its territory, and Luozhan railway runs through the whole town. The town is the first professional technology innovation pilot unit in Maoming City approved by the Provincial Department of science and technology. Rich in litchi, longan, mango, carambola, pineapple and other Lingnan fruit, known as the reputation of Lixiang.

Shange town is located in the northeast of Maonan District, 7 kilometers away from the center of Maoming City. It is adjacent to Yangjiao town in the southeast, Xinpo town in the southwest, Jintang town in the northwest, and Gaozhou boundary town and Jinshan Development Zone in the northeast. In 1941, it belonged to the Second District of Maoming County, in 1953, it belonged to the Fifth District of Maoming County, in 1956, it belonged to the boundary district of Maoming County, in 1958, Maoming county was changed to Gaozhou County, it belonged to the boundary commune of Gaozhou County, shange commune was established in 1961, it belonged to the boundary commune in 1963, it belonged to the suburb of Maoming City with the approval of the State Council in February 1979, shange commune was established in May of the same year, it was changed into district in 1983, Maonan district was established in 1985, it belonged to Maonan District, in 1987 It was changed into a town in 1949. In 2018, it has jurisdiction over 10 village committees, 1 community neighborhood committee and 104 natural villages. The regional area is 44.74 square kilometers (2017), including 26000 mu of mountain forest land, 20000 mu of litchi, longan and other fruits; 23139 mu of cultivated land, mainly rice, peanut and vegetables. 40431 registered residence population (November 2020).

Shange town has achieved steady economic development by improving the government's ability to serve enterprises, improving the investment environment, and increasing the efforts to attract investment. Agriculture

To ensure the stable growth of grain planting area and yield, we should take measures such as issuing grain subsidies and speeding up the construction of irrigation and water conservancy, encourage and guide farmers to play the role of Maoming vegetable basket base, scientifically plant vegetables and Northern vegetables, with the annual vegetable planting area of 3600 Mu and the winter Northern vegetables planting area of 6000 mu, and increase farmers' income. Pay close attention to the research and promotion of standardized production technology of litchi. The planting area of litchi is 13050 mu, and the annual output of litchi is more than 2020 tons. Taking advantage of the leading agricultural enterprises such as Shunxiang pigeon industry Co., Ltd. and Fenghua pig farm, the company + farmer mode is adopted to vigorously develop the breeding industry. The breeding of meat pigeons and pigs has a large scale, with an annual output of 2 million meat pigeons and an annual inventory of 78000 meat pigs.

natural resources

There are abundant natural resources. The mineral resources include oil shale, kaolin, quartz sand and clay. The reserves of kaolin are more than 300 million tons. The kaolin is shallow buried, thin overburden, easy to exploit, with good crystallinity, high whiteness, small particle size, less impurities and even particle size distribution. It is the most ideal and high-quality paper coated kaolin in China. The kaolin series products produced by shange porcelain clay company are comparable with the similar high-quality products in the world. Shange town has developed transportation. Maogao express line (280 provincial road) and maocang highway (612 County Road) run through the whole town. The roads connecting administrative villages and natural villages are hard bottomed in an all-round way. All 11 Village (neighborhood) committees have the conditions to connect buses and have built waiting booths. Luoyang Zhanjiang railway passes through four village committees: jintangling, Shaojiu, Heyi and Fuju.

River system

There are three major rivers in shange Town, with scientific and reasonable natural distribution: Dakeng River in the north, Sishui River in the middle and Xiaodong River in the south

The Dakeng river is the longest river in the territory, running through the whole territory of the north and the central and western regions for about 8.5km. It flows from north to south through Xinlang, Xinwu, waling, shangzhushan, xiazhushan, Dashan, Jiucun, Lucun and Nankeng jiutiao villages. It flows into Xiaokeng, the largest tributary in the west of waling village, and into Sishui River (a tributary of Xiaodongjiang) in the east of Shankou village of Jintang town;

Sishui River (a tributary of Xiaodongjiang River) flows through the territory for 5 km and runs through the whole central region. From northeast to southwest, it flows through qitiao villages of chejiaoshan, simaoyuan, muche, Longdi, fuyuwo, Tangbian and Lucun. In the east of Shankou village of Jintang Town, it flows into Dakeng, the largest tributary, and in the west of liudunche village of Xinpo Town, it flows into Xiaodongjiang;

Xiaodongjiang river flows through the southernmost part of the territory, with a drainage area of about 4 km. From east to west, it flows through six villages, namely zenghong, Naji, liantanghu, dazhenkou, shusendu and chetianwu. It is the largest and shortest River in the territory.

Shange is a famous old town with profound cultural heritage. The main scenic spots and historic sites in the area include walingfujing, Lucun Gujing, former residence of general chejialong in Lucun, chegong temple in Lucun, Henggang Temple of Shaojiu, etc.
