Duqiongxiang

Duqiong Township belongs to Bailang County, Xigaze City, Tibet, with an area of 116.53 square kilometers and a population of 3780 (2017). Bailang County governs the township. "Duqiong" is Tibetan, which means "the place of assembly and association". Duqiong district was established in 1961 and changed to township in 1988. Located in the northeast of the county, 10 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 116.53 square kilometers and has a population of 3780 (2017). It has jurisdiction over 9 village committees, including duqiong, Jiubu, Dongpu, Patuo, Pula, chaqiang, duodan, laiqiang and Dangjing. In the semi agricultural and semi pastoral rural areas, mainly agriculture, highland barley, wheat and rape are planted, and yaks, goats and sheep are raised. The handicraft products, such as Lu and Zang quilt, are famous in later Tibet. In 1993, it was listed as "one river, two rivers" Agricultural Comprehensive Development Zone by Tibet Autonomous Region. Dangjing temple was first built in 1261.
