Qingcun town is subordinate to Fengxian District of Shanghai, located in the middle of Fengxian District, bordering Nanqiao, Fengcheng, Jinhui, Haiwan and other towns. Nanfeng Road, Pingzhuang Road, Linhai Road, Puxing Road, tuanqing Road, Yanqian Road, Taiqing Road, Hangtang Road, Punan canal, Jinhui port, etc. run through the north and south, and village roads lead to every residential area. As of July 2020, the town area was 73.16 square kilometers, the total resident population was 88658, the registered residence population was 53555, and 3 communities, 24 villages, 9 neighborhood committees and 2 venues were administered.
In August 2019, the whole area of Qingcun town was included in the new port area of Shanghai free trade zone. In June 2020, in the draft of land and space master plan for Lingang New Area, Qingcun was designated as "Qingcun Shuiyun area".
In the first half of 2020, the industrial output value of Qingcun town will reach 5.87 billion yuan, the total investment in fixed assets will reach 331 million yuan, the total retail sales of social consumer goods will reach 1.76 billion yuan, and the fiscal revenue will reach 2.582 billion yuan.
In September 2018, Qingcun town was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.
In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Qingcun as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.
History of construction
On May 14, 1949, Fengxian was liberated. At that time, there were six districts and one town. Qingcun belonged to Songjiang District of Southern Jiangsu administrative office, Qingcun District of Fengxian County (the Sixth District).
In 1954, the southern Jiangsu administrative office and the northern Jiangsu administrative office were removed and Jiangsu Province was established. Shiqing village belongs to Qingcun District, Fengxian County, Songjiang District, Jiangsu Province.
In September 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. Qingcun Township belongs to Fengxian County, Songjiang District, Jiangsu Province.
In March 1958, it belonged to Yingxiong Township, Fengxian County, Suzhou special district, Jiangsu Province. In September of the same year, it was withdrawn from the township to establish a community and changed its name to Yingxiong people's commune. On November 24 of the same year, Fengxian was put under the jurisdiction of Shanghai, which was known as the heroic people's commune of Fengxian County, Shanghai.
In February 1959, the people's commune of Qingcun, Fengxian County, Shanghai was established.
On May 17, 1983, Qingcun was listed as one of the first batch of pilot units in Shanghai to set up separate government and social organizations. It was Qingcun township of Fengxian County in Shanghai when it was built by social organizations.
On February 9, 1994, the establishment of Qingcun Township in Fengxian County was abolished, and Qingcun town (County town) in Fengxian County was established to implement the system of town managing village.
On March 26, 1994, Qingcun township was renamed Qingcun town.
On August 24, 2001, Fengxian County was withdrawn and built into a district. At that time, Qingcun belonged to Qingcun Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai.
On November 12, 2003, the three towns of Qingcun, Qianqiao and Guangming were abolished and Qingcun Town, Fengxian District, Shanghai was established.

In 1983, before the separation of government and society, Qingcun people's commune was divided into 14 production brigades, including zhudian, Zhongjia, Yaojia, Zhuqiao, Liyao, Yuzhuang, fangdun, Yuehe, taozhai, Wangjia, Min'an, Wujia, Beigang and Tangjia. There were 186 production brigades, five sideline farms, including Taoyuan, Hezhong, vegetable, aquatic products, central egg farm, and one improved agricultural variety farm, including street farms 20 social enterprises and institutions.
In May 1983, after the establishment of the township by the community, the original 14 brigades were divided into 14 villages and 186 villager groups, and the neighborhood committees were set up in the streets. In November 2003, Qingcun, Qianqiao and Guangming were integrated.

The groundwater level of the dry soil in the tidal ditch rises and falls frequently, the water and air flow in the soil, and the ooze layer is deep. The color of the land is dark, mainly brown gray.
