Zongshan architecture
The altitude here is about 4200 meters. It's the nearest town to Everest and the gateway to it. Xieger town is built on the mountain, and a river passes through the middle of the city. Looking up, you can see the ancient buildings on the mountain. In many parts of Tibet, there are still Zongshan buildings. For example, the sites of the Guge Dynasty and the Jiangzi mountain are world-famous and popular with tourists. "Zong" literally means "blockhouse" and "Shanzhai" in Tibetan. In the political history, "Zong" is an important level in Tibet's political structure which has lasted for thousands of years, and its specification is roughly equivalent to that of today's county government. Before the liberation of Tibet, there were 147 cases at most. Zongshan building, the seat of the Tibetan Zong government, generally includes the Sutra hall, Buddha Hall, Zongshan government, prison, warehouse, etc. Zongshan is mostly built on the ridge, which is strictly separated from the residential area at the foot of the mountain. The well built Zongshan building not only has a complete defense system, but also has the mutual echo of the Ming blockhouse and the dark castle. There is a secret waterway connecting the mountain and the mountain, so as to prevent being isolated and surrounded during the war. The Zongshan building in xieger town is built along the ridge with an inclined angle of 40-50 degrees. Its appearance is quite similar to that of the medieval castles in Europe. It is towering and imposing. It is in sharp contrast to the simple dwellings in the smoke curling down the mountain.
