Nongzhang town

Nongzhang town is a town formed by the amalgamation of jiemao town and nongzhang town. It borders Longchuan in the East and Southeast, Myanmar in the East in the south, Taiping Town in the West and Pingyuan town in the north.

Historical evolution

Nongzhang, which means "xiangxiangtang" in Dai language, is said to have been a primeval forest in ancient times. It was named after the frequent presence and frolic of elephants in the pool. It originally belonged to xuanfusi District of Ganya county. After liberation, it belonged to the Second District of Yingjiang County in 1951. Nongzhang town is located in the south of Yingjiang County Government, on the South Bank of Dayingjiang River, with high terrain in the southeast and low terrain in the northwest.
