Mengxiu Township

Mengxiu Township, located in the northwest of Ruili, is a typical multi-ethnic mountainous area. It is connected with ruiliba in the East and south, Myanmar across the Nanwang River in the west, and Longchuan in the northeast. The government is 22 kilometers away from the city, 12.3 kilometers long, with 1 boundary pillar, 3 ferry crossings and 14 rivers.

The 12 surrounding villages in the township are listed as FCCD (Sino Dutch cooperation project) Tongbiguan Nature Reserve. The highest altitude in the territory is 1824 meters, and the lowest is 800 meters, which belongs to subtropical monsoon climate.

In 2008, the total income of rural economy was 58.19 million yuan, an increase of 3.65 million yuan or 6.69% over the previous year; the per capita net income of farmers was 2900 yuan, an increase of 380 yuan or 16.77% over the previous year; the total grain output was 3.741 million kg, an increase of 531 million kg or 16.45% over the previous year; the per capita grain ration of farmers was 356 kg, an increase of 46 kg or 46% over the previous year.

Historical evolution

Mengxiu, translated from Dai, means the place where wild ginger grows. According to historical records, in 1935, mengxiu was set up as an official District, which was divided into Mengdian Banyang, nanjingli, mengxiu, Nanguan, etc. From 1945 to 1950, mengxiu was under the jurisdiction of sanhudan mountain; in 1954, mengxiu was under the jurisdiction of Jiedong district.

Mengxiu production and Culture Station (district level) was established on February 25, 1956, which governs five townships of mengxiu, huwa, Mengdian, Hulan, nanjingli, leinong, etc.; in October 1958, Longchuan was merged into Ruili, and mengxiu production and Culture Station governs six townships of mengxiu, huwa, Mengdian, Hulan, nanjingli, Mengli, etc.

From 1960 to 1963, mengxiu production and Culture Station governed mengxiu, huwa, Mengdian, Hulan, nanjinli and other townships. In 1965, Mengli township of mengxiu production and Culture Station was assigned to Jiele district. In 1966, HUWA township was classified as huwa and other Zha (Qianjin) township.

In January 1969, the district station and township system was changed into commune, which has jurisdiction over six brigades, namely mengxiu, huwa, Mengdian, Hulan, nanjingli, etc. During the "Cultural Revolution", mengxiu commune was changed into red flag commune, and the brigade was also changed into the name of "a piece of red". Mengxiu brigade is changed into Hongqi brigade, huwa brigade is changed into Hongyang brigade, Mengdian brigade is changed into Hongguang brigade, Hulan brigade is changed into Hongge brigade, nanjinli brigade is changed into Hongzhong brigade, and dengzha (Qianjin) Township brigade is changed into Hongwei brigade. In 1976, the place name "yipianhong" changed in the "Cultural Revolution" was restored to its original name, but the appellation of people's commune was still retained until the end of 1983. From February to April, 1984, the district was rebuilt. The huwa brigade was divided into two townships, Xiaojie and huwa. Mengxiu district had jurisdiction over seven townships.

Since 1986, mengxiu has managed 7 administrative village offices, 44 cooperatives and 89 natural villages, including mengxiu, huwa, Xiaojie, Mengdian, Hulan, nanjingli and dengzha. In September 2000, the township "removed the village construction committee". The qualified rate of teachers is 100%.

At present, there are 8 ordinary teaching classes with 348 students, including 183 minority students, accounting for 52.6% of the total number of students. The school covers an area of 59.03 mu, with a construction area of 3679 square meters and fixed assets of more than 2 million yuan. There are 8 primary schools, including 4 village primary schools, 4 teaching sites, 37 teaching classes, 955 students and 443 ethnic minority students, accounting for 46.4%.

The school covers a total area of 123138 square meters, with a total construction area of 11757 square meters. There are 6 semi boarding primary schools with 855 students.

The enrollment rate of school-age children is 100%, the enrollment rate of junior middle school is 95.72%, and the enrollment consolidation rate is 98%. The proportion of ethnic minority students going to senior high school is 7%, and the number of junior middle school students going to senior high school has increased from 1-2 in the past to 12.

Forest right reform

In 2008, with the strong support and cooperation of the forestry department, all villages and groups in the township carried out the investigation and boundary work. The total area of woodland in the township is 278000 mu, accounting for 65% of the total land area of the township, and 94682.1 Mu is involved in forest reform. Among the 44 villager groups in the township, 42 villager groups are involved in the forest reform. Among them, BANGHU has no collective forest, mangnong is involved in the relocation, and the forest reform is suspended.

Infrastructure

1. Transportation construction: in 2006, mengxiu Township completed the construction project of 13 km Shashi road from Guangka to Mengdian to Tanshi road; completed the construction of 3 km Shashi road from guangerchakou to huwalao village committee; completed the construction of 3 km Shashi road from wajieba.

2. Village cultural activity room construction: in 2007, a total of 9 cultural activity room construction projects have been obtained from the higher authorities, 4 of which have been completed, and the remaining 5 are under construction.

3. Irrigation and water conservancy:

In 2007, mengxiu Township completed the construction of a stone dam by Mengdian group with an investment of 80000 yuan; completed the construction of a water diversion project by Muna group of Hulan village with an investment of 80000 yuan; completed the lemon irrigation project of bangkongba with an investment of 1 million yuan; completed the lemon irrigation project of Mengdian and mangjian areas with an investment of 2.5 million yuan; and completed the whole village promotion of Muna group, mangnong group and Guangka group Work.

Sugar cane

Sugarcane industry is the pillar industry of rural economy in mengxiu township. At present, the development of sugarcane in the township has a considerable scale, which has become the main way for farmers to get rid of poverty and become the main source of economic income. The annual planting area of sugarcane is 26860 mu, the harvest area is 24500 mu, the total yield is 135700 tons, the average yield is 5.5 tons.

lemon

Lemon industry is the main industry in mengxiu township. The industry has high economic value, good market prospect, mature planting and management technology, and good industrial development policy, which is a good opportunity to seize the opportunity for rapid development.

The planned ten thousand mu lemon base is under construction. In 2007, combined with the actual situation of the township, three areas were divided in nandoba area to complete the construction of ten thousand mu pollution-free lemon planting base: the first area, Mengdian Bazi Hexin community to machandi and Gaoli area, covering an area of 4700 mu; the second area, lasang mountain by Guangguo to Mengdian area, covering an area of 2800 mu; the third area, mangjian by Mengdian Dian primary school, huwa to Xinzhai area, covering an area of 2800 mu.

The total area of lemon is 10719 mu, and 3200 Mu was planted in 2007. The total output value of the lemon industry is 2.64 million yuan.
