Damaidi town

Damaidi town is subordinate to Shuangbai County, Chuxiong Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Damaidi town is located in the south of Shuangbai County and on the North Bank of lvzhijiang river. It is a town at the southernmost end of Chuxiong Prefecture. It governs nine villagers' committees, 116 natural villages and 126 villagers' groups, including Damaidi, Hekou, Guangming and ditu. The highest altitude is 1950 meters and the lowest is 680 meters. The resident population was 9191 (2017). The town people's government moved to puLong, 70 kilometers away from the county town of todian.

Historical evolution

Shuangbai County governs the township. Xinjie commune was established in 1958, Damaidi commune was established in 1973, district was changed in 1984, and township was changed in 1987. In 2005, Yunnan provincial government decided to withdraw the township and build a town.

administrative division

According to the spirit of yunzhengfu No.91 document, the provincial government decided to abolish Yulong Township and put bangsan, yeniu and fadoutian village committees under the jurisdiction of Damaidi. Damaidi withdrew the township to build a town, and the town government moved to puLong. Location context

Damaidi town is located in the south of Shuangbai County, on the North Bank of lvzhijiang river. It is the southernmost town in Chuxiong Prefecture. The town is adjacent to Tudian Town, falian town and ainishan township of the county, LAOCHANG Township and Xinhua township of Xinping County of Yuxi City, and fuliangpeng township of Eshan county. The town covers an area of 496.97 square kilometers, and the town government is 70 kilometers away from Shuangbai County.

Topography

Damaidi town has high terrain in the northeast, low terrain in the southwest, undulating mountains, broken terrain, complex climate, vast land and sparse population, and drought and little rain all year round. It is a typical mountainous minority remote poverty town. The highest altitude of Laoxiong mountain is 2641 meters, and the lowest altitude of puLong village is 600 meters.

Damaidi town is a typical subtropical and tropical Valley climate with prominent elevation difference and obvious three-dimensional climate. It has abundant sunshine and abundant light and heat resources. The annual average temperature is about 22 ℃ and there is no frost all year round. It is suitable for planting a variety of crops.

Eight small rivers, including apachong River, Zedu River, ditu River, chongluomu River, Hekou River, Wannianqing River and Ketian River, flow through the whole territory from northeast to south, and then flow into Lvzhi river. The eight steep mountains extend from northeast to southwest to the edge of Lvzhi river. Lvzhijiang river flows about 50 kilometers in Damaidi Town, and its volume is about 300 square seconds.
