Huayan Town
Huayan Town, subordinate to Tongnan District of Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Tongnan District, adjacent to Shuangjiang town in the East, Da'an Town in the south, Majiang town in the West and Moxi town in Suining City in the north, with a total area of 25.3 square kilometers.
In the middle and late Qing Dynasty, Huayan Town was under the jurisdiction of Suining Prefecture; in June 1994, it was changed from Huayan Town to Huayan Town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Huayan Town was 12568. As of June 2020, Huayan Town has two communities and three administrative villages, and the people's Government of Huayan Town is located at No. 1 South Street.
In 2018, there were 16 industrial enterprises and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Huayan Town.
History of construction
In the middle and late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Suining Prefecture.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was xiaanlihua rock field in Tongnan district. In 1915, it was Huayan Township, the first district of Tongnan district.
In September 1958, Huayan township was changed into Huayan commune.
In September 1968, Huayan commune was renamed Hongyan commune.
After December 1978, Hongyan commune was rebuilt as Huayan township.
In June 1994, Huayan township was changed into Huayan Town.

By the end of 2011, Huayan Town had five administrative villages, including Huayan, Shuiqiao, Longhuai, Shimiao and Shima, and 38 villager groups.
